More about our speakers:

Patricia Yánez

Yánez is currently associate director of original content marketing at ESPN. In her role, she leads a stellar team in developing beautiful and impactful promotional strategy for Emmy, Oscar and Peabody award-winning brands: 30 for 30, E60, ESPN Films, ESPN+ Originals, The ESPY Awards, and SC Featured. She and the team also develop PSAs in partnership with the Corporate Citizenship team. Previously, she held several roles in sales and marketing at Disney Media Entertainment Distribution, building strategies to advance programming priorities and time spent for the Walt Disney company’s TV portfolio and corresponding apps.

Marcus Collins, author of For the Culture

Collins uses stories from his own life as a top marketer, from spearheading digital strategy for Beyoncé, to working with iTunes and Nike+ on their collaboration, to the successful launch of the Nets NBA team in Brooklyn, to break down the ways in which culture influences behavior. Then, he shows readers how they can do the same. With a deep perspective based on a century’s worth of data, and designed for our hyper-connected, light-speed world, For the Culture will give readers the tools to inspire collective change by encouraging us to always consider not only what culture can do for us, but what we can do for the culture.

Team Cornett, 2023 ADDY Award Winners

The challenge: how do we differentiate ourselves from rival cities and get new audiences talking about Lexington, Kentucky, The Horse Capital of the World?

The answer: Sneakers for horses. Obviously.

Cornett’s campaign for Horse Kicks began as a stunt to promote Lexington, but after partnering with local sneaker artist Marcus Floyd, it quickly became a very real brand with a very real product—and eventually, very real demand, pioneering a whole new sneaker category.

Equipped with scroll-stopping photo assets, a fun website, and one impossible-to-ignore pop-up activation in the heart of downtown during the 2022 Breeders’ Cup, Cornett launched Horse Kicks into three BILLION earned media impressions, including Jimmy Fallon, USA Today, Washington Post, People, BBC, CNN, NPR and The Drew Barrymore Show.

Join Team Cornett as they share how the Horse Kicks project has introduced Lexington to an enormous global audience of potential travelers, and become the biggest success for one of the tourism industry’s most talked-about brands.
